Current Projects
Natural and Cultural Heritage Planning and Management
1. Mill Creek Catchment Masterplan, 2009.
Client: Bankstown City Council, Sutherland Shire Council and NSW Department of Environment and Climate Change
The Mill Creek sub-catchment is one of the major tributary drainage systems feeding into the mid Georges River, and has been selected by management authorities as one of two locations where projects will be developed and implemented to address the diverse impacts affecting the river and its catchments.
Gondwana Consulting has been recently commissioned to develop a clear, usable and well-presented Masterplan and accompanying Report which sets out a realistic and achievable array of specific works and management actions that land managers can implement to work towards the long-term sustainable, management of the sub-catchment and protection of its environmental, heritage, aesthetic, recreational and land use values.
The Masterplan and Report will provide sound management recommendations based on a consideration of the sub-catchment’s values, user needs, management realities, and balanced and sustainable solutions. Importantly, the Report will be prepared with due consideration to the Sutherland and Bankstown Councils’ management resources – both in operational and capital works terms – as well as the role of other land holders/managers and their respective responsibilities for differing parts of the sub-catchment.
